Afterschool Social Camp

for Children and Youth with Autism

Afterschool Therapeutic Learning Camp is a way to extend your child’s social skills, communication, and learning beyond the tradition school/educational setting. We offer the following services at camp as part of programming.

Homework Help and/or Remediation

Based on need, we can help to address issues with staying on task and focusing on learning activities and/or completing homework. Additionally, we can address functional skills that may have been forgotten or that are emerging and need an intensive concentration to promote mastery and generalization.

Social Skills and Communication

Throughout the camp experience, our staff is dedicated to facilitating and promoting social skills and communication with your camper. Individuals with Autism who are highly engaged and challenged tend to move toward independence more quickly and exhibit less self-stimulatory behavior. Additionally, we address safety issues through role play and activities that are essential in this population.

Fun

In all that we do, we try to make it fun and engaging for our campers. We provide community outings to apply and generalize skills, on Tuesdays and Fridays. Other popular activities are the art projects, cooking, exercise, and structured leisure activities. Each week has a theme that activities build upon.

Time: Campers may arrive as early as 3:00 p.m. and be picked up as late as 6:30 p.m.

Cost: $80.00 per week; $16.00 per day. Additional full-day camps are offered throughout the year as scheduled on the calendar.

Note: Homework Help, Remediation, and Social Skills/Communication are embedded in the camp program, however, for more intensive needs in remediation and/or social skills you may want to consider our Tutoring and Social Skills Group Programs.
